If you go skiing all the time, there is a good chance you already have all the equipment you usually use, and what’s more, you likely know exactly what you need to wear in order to keep your body at the desired temperature – but if you are going to be taking a ski vacation this winter, or next winter (or any winter, for that matter!), and this is not something you usually do, you will need to make sure you know what you should wear in order to stay warm – and you might be surprised to realize that wearing more is not always the best solution!

Of course, you should also realize that the sun is likely to be strong when you are high on the mountain, and because of this, your body itself will feel a lot less cold than you might imagine; make sure you are not over-layering, or you will end up getting exhausted from being so hot – and will actually make yourself more likely to get sick, as your sweat will eventually cool against your body! Two layers on your bottom half is usually as much as you need (perhaps a pair of long underwear and some ski pants over this), and on your upper body, you will probably not want to wear much more than a shirt, a fleece, and your coat!

Make sure you bring some extra clothes in your car (or, if you have a backpack you can bring with you on the slopes – which is also a great way to carry water – you can put the clothes in there), but when you are attired in this manner, you should be all set for the duration of the day!

Options to Consider in a Washing Machine

Some front loader models are beginning to offer a steam feature, which is supposed to assist in removing stains. Then steam can also assist in sanitizing clothing if that is of concern to you. You can find the steam feature in some high end washers. You may also wish to consider whether features like time delay, automatic detergent dispensing, automatic bleach dispensing, and fabric softener dispensing is important to you. You will ultimately have to be the one that decides what features work best for you.

If space is an issue, you may wish to consider a washer that is actually also drier too. Having a washer/ drier function is a great option. These again are more on the expensive side but if you have to replace both your washer and dryer you may wish to consider them.
